Outlander has had a long run and unfortunately the story is coming to an end with Season 8, which will be the series’ final season, wrapping up the epic, time-travel tale based on the novels. It’s a bittersweet moment for Outlander fans in the US , UK and around the world getting excited about this final season .

Fans want to know more about who will be in season 8 and when they will be able to see the final season of Outlander . At the moment we know season 7 will come out in November . I think the prequel Blood of my Blood will be broadcast next year and the final season of Outlander will then come out after that , possibly in 2026 .

Veteran Scottish actor Tony Curran , who has been in Dr Who ,  Underworld Evolution , Roots and the Netflix historical epic the Outlaw King and Thor : the Dark World , will play Lord Lovat of Fraser in season 8. Funnily enough Curran is an actual Fraser as his grandmother was a Fraser .

Peter Mullan , best known for films such as “Braveheart” and “Trainspotting”, the Lord of the Rings , Ozark and starring in “My Name Is Joe” is set to feature in the prequel Blood of my Blood .

Midhope Castle , also know as Broch Tuarach , is the real life location for Lallybroch , Jamie Fraser’s ancestral home and almost certain to feature in the Outlander prequel Blood of my Blood
