Sam Heughan has confirmed last week ” We are shooting the last season… Season 8. We’ve now shot three weeks…” Sam noted.
His sentiments were echoed by Catriona who also attended the fan convention and is directing at least one episode this season.
Sam also mentioned that they were planning to finish the season 8 filming in October. Two days filming finished at the end of May at Doune Castle , Castle Leoch .
If Blood of My Blood is sticking to a similar schedule, then it would wrap up around the same time.
Update – Outlander Blood of My Blood filming has now wrapped , August 1 .
This means both shows could premiere in early 2025 .
Given that Outlander is one of the most popular shows on Starz, there is no way that they would air them at the same time .
This means fans may get to see the first season of the prequel Blood of My Blood before the final season of Outlander.
The series will star Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy as Jamie Fraser ‘s parents Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, while Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine will play Claire’s parents Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp.
