Season 8 of the show is one week into filming, and Sam Heughan ( Jamie Fraser ) and Caitriona Balfe ( Claire Fraser ) revealed in a video posted that two fan favourites would be returning to the series for the next season.
The video shows Caitriona and Sam sharing about new sets, new crews, and new cast members for next season, as well as some familiar faces, stating that Jamie’s adopted son, Fergus, and his wife Marsali (Jamie’s stepdaughter) are making a comeback. Fans are hoping for some Classic Outlander stories and scenes .
The married couple left Outlander back in Season 6 when they decided to move from Fraser’s Ridge in search of a better life.
Speculation and excitement about season 8 are growing among the fanbase. While specific plot details are closely guarded secrets , it is anticipated that the new season will continue to adapt Gabaldon’s novels, potentially covering the later books in the series. Fans are looking forward to seeing how the showrunners will handle the evolution of key characters and plotlines, especially given the rich material available in the source material.
Outlander fans are excited to know where season 8 will be filmed . Will it be filmed at all the places we already know – Lallybroch , Castle Leoch , etc – or will there be a few new locations to add to the list ?
Sadly, season 8 will be the final season of Outlander so there will be no season 9 . Fortunately , there is more Outlander to come as the prequel Blood of my Blood has already started filming in Scotland at Doune Castle – Castle Leoch .
